Unbowed Nancy shows no fear of the sack yet Celtic fans unleash anger after derby defeat.
Wilfried Nancy stated he had no concerns about dismissal, claiming, “I believe we are really close to things turning around,” despite edging perilously close to the chopping block with a convincing loss to the Ibrox side.
Another Capitulation Leads to Old Firm Defeat
The Hoops had led the visitors at the interval but a collapse after the break enabled Danny Röhl’s team to move level on points with the current league title holders. Nancy, who was hired from the MLS, has now been in charge for six setbacks in eight fixtures.

Protest Erupts

“Wins and losses [that leads to pressure]. And that’s the situation for the moment. Yet in stating that’s how it is, it doesn’t mean that I am a defeatist guy. Not at all. The message is the turnaround is near, extremely close to reverse our form.”
Nancy’s Persistent Belief
Nancy remains focused on the fact Celtic show good levels for a half at a time. Indeed, but for missed chances they could have been better than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit aside from the fact that we missed our chances,” he said. “I accept that we lost, but it's important to stay fair.
“The performance we had at certain moments was of top quality. This is the reality. And I would not say that if it was different. That is the reason, when it comes to wins, I said it's a repeating pattern. That’s why I feel a change is coming to getting it right. But for the moment: details, details, details.”
“There were many, many good things that we did, once more. However it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My message would be different if it was not the case. That’s why I firmly believe the team can to fix this.”
Röhl’s Cautious Stance
Rangers manager refused to contemplate a title charge despite what appeared to be a statement victory. “We take it game by game, so we can develop something here,” he said. “The confidence in the group is immense.”
