The Two Fatalities Identified in the Providence Campus Incident as Police Press On With Search for Gunman.

Two students who died in the recent tragic incident in Providence had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their assailant continued following the discharge by authorities in Rhode Island of the sole person questioned in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was called “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a gathering on Sunday.

Officials stated late Sunday that a man aged 24 taken into custody in a search at a lodging about approximately 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was released from custody.

“We have a murderer out there,” said the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you have to regroup and go in another, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last approximately one day.”
