Passionate followers of Ariana Grande are calling for that a individual who leaped a barrier and touched the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating footage reveals the individual from Australia pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a yellow carpet flanked by fans.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being arrested", though official papers indicated that he was scheduled to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account includes recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last December.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user questioned.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Well-being

Numerous fans criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed suffering from PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another comment on Instagram.

Some attendees also faulted guards at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.

Response and Event Details

In footage spreading on the internet, Grande seemed startled when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore fans had queued up to see the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of supporters had gathered in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The film, to be launched on November 21, is the second of a two-part interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End show Wicked, which revolves around the surprising relationship between two very different characters.

The production itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a rosé glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were joined by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 award recognitions, winning several for best costume and artistic direction.
