Recent Details Surface Regarding the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the untimely passing of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.
A Alarm
As detailed in an account quoting a person close to the family, a therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the residence. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Afterward, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Charges
The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The anonymous source questioned several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Furthermore disputed published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction includes accounts of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for some hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
