Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
