Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
