Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently following cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
