Administration Decries 'Democrat Hoax' as More Epstein Estate Photos Disclosed
House Democrats have published a fresh batch of what they termed "disturbing" images from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 images—a portion of which have been previously circulated—plus another 70 released later on Friday account for a small number of the approximately 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is probing the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking crimes.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Among the prominent personalities seen in the initial batch are public figures featuring movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump appears in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are obscured.
Administration Reaction
The White House reacted to the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the images for political purposes and to "attempt to fabricate a false account."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been time and again refuted," a White House spokesperson said, asserting that "the Trump administration has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by frequently urging transparency, releasing reams of papers, and calling for additional probes into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Panel Member Statement
The photographs were published lacking captions, but per a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's associations with affluent people.
"The moment has come to end this White House cover-up and deliver justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he declared in a release.
The publication of these materials coincides with the oversight committee proceeding with its probe into the affair.
